Because of the demand for water conservation and sustainability in Nevada’s high desert climate, University of Nevada Cooperative Extension is offering QWEL in northern Nevada. With the support of Truckee Meadows Water Authority and the Nevada Landscape Association, QWEL will be offered twice per year in Washoe County. Opportunities for continuing education (CEUs) are available during our Green Industry Continuing Education Series (GICES) and at the Nevada Landscape Association annual conference. QWEL participants learn how to use water efficiently in the landscape by understanding local water needs and irrigation principles. Local experts in the field, as well as Cooperative Extension faculty and staff, teach the course and remain a valuable resource for certified professionals.
