QWEL Train-the-Trainer Workshop, Las Vegas, NV

w.pngThe California Water Efficiency Partnership (CalWEP) and the Sonoma-Marin Saving Water Partnership are pleased to offer a Qualified Water Efficient Landscaper (QWEL) Train-the-Trainer workshop for water use efficiency professionals who are interested in offering QWEL in their local area. This full day workshop will provide an abbreviated review of the QWEL training materials with an emphasis on how to teach, market, and manage the QWEL program in your area. 

QWEL training presents an affordable, proactive, local approach to reducing landscape water demand, and is recognized as an EPA WaterSense labeled Professional Certification Program for Irrigation System Audits. The program provides 20 hours of education on local water supply, sustainable landscaping, soils, landscape water budgets, irrigation system components and maintenance, irrigation system audits, and scheduling and controller programming. 

Workshop topics: 
• How to adopt QWEL and bring it to your area 
• How to market and manage the QWEL program in your area 
• How to teach the QWEL program 
• Condensed review of QWEL training materials 
• QWEL exam 

In order to obtain the QWEL certification, an individual must demonstrate their ability to perform an irrigation system audit as well as pass the QWEL exam. The QWEL exam will be included in this workshop. Participants wishing to become QWEL certified will need to conduct an independent overhead irrigation system audit following the workshop. 

Participants wishing to take the QWEL exam and become QWEL certified are encouraged to study the QWEL training materials ahead of the workshop. The California edition of the QWEL Reference Manual can be downloaded HERE.
