Qualified Water Efficient Landscaper: Rainwater Training Program limited to only landscape professionals and designers doing work in Marin, Sonoma, and Mendocino Counties

Rainwater is a valuable resource that when collected and stored, can be used as an alternative water source helping offset the demand on existing water systems, such as wells, and municipal water.  Water is a precious resource in California and rainwater catchment is one strategy that can help protect this resource.  The purpose of this training is to introduce landscape installers and other water system professionals to the basics of rainwater catchment system design and installation.

 The list of topics covered in the 2023 QWEL Rainwater curriculum include:

  1. Introduction to Rainwater Catchment
  2. Codes, Permits, and Accreditations
  3. System Planning
  4. Fill System
  5. Water Storage
  6. Distribution Systems
  7. System Maintenance

In order to receive a certificate of completion for the training, you must pass the exam with at least a 75% passing rate and participate in in-field instruction.

 

The in-field instruction and exam will take place on 12/15.
